The agricultural economy in Normandy has welcomed a significant increase in wheat yield after a much better harvest in 2017, counting an average of 34% more than that of 2016.

It had been necessary during the past year for the government to regularly intervene, loaning millions of euros to the Credit-Agricole de Normandie-Seine. It is therefore very pleasing for the French economy that the harvests are now improving.

Wheat exports are therefore expected to rise in the coming year, benefiting ship-owners wishing to transport it, and France should continue to remain in the top 5 of countries with the most wheat exports annually.
